March update from altspace coworking office
Following our January launch over 40 freelancers and businesses have visited altspace coworking office to work together and collaborate. This reflects the strength of the independent business sector in Altrincham and Cheshire. There are distinct advantages for these remote workers to work out of the home in a coworking space ranging from informal support to improved productivity and fewer commutes. In this week’s blog two of our members discuss the services they deliver, their motivations and why they love working for themselves in Altrincham.
Andrew England – Shipping Consultant for World Options Ltd
What does World Options offer?
We allow UK based companies to reduce the time, hassle and money spent on their international shipments of documents and packages whilst still using the world’s leading courier companies.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Caffeine!!!
Why is your service better than what’s already on the market locally?
As an online courier we offer more competitive prices and importantly provide an account managed service with a dedicated customer service team. Quite simply we cannot be beaten on price service.
Why work at altspace?
The location is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, everyone is really friendly and it offers me the chance to get out of the house. My productivity has increased a lot!
What do you love about Altrincham?
The amazing places to eat and drink along with close proximity to the countryside.
Rachel Spencer – Freelance journalist and copywriter
What are some of the services you offer?
Content writing and social media management for small businesses. Examples include writing press releases, web content, blog posts, articles for local business magazines, case studies, heritage trail booklets and newsletters.
What differentiates you from others?
I’ve worked as a journalist covering and supplying stories for national newspapers and magazines for nearly two decades and I know what makes a good story. I also liase regularly with editors on these titles so can offer opportunities for clients to gain national exposure or give expert comment which is great for brand awareness. Rather than simply try to sell what they do, I think it’s vital for businesses to create interesting and engaging content that people want to read, just like the kind of thing you might see on the Huffington Post, BuzzFeed or Mail Online, all titles I have worked with.
Rachel appreciates the opportunity to meet new people at altspace
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Usually my dog Daisy barking! It’s knowing that no single day is the same and I could end up at a party for chihuahuas, interviewing Pamela Anderson or helping a small business tell the world what they do.
Why work at altspace?
I like meeting new people and sharing ideas, also there’s the free cake and sweets!
Where would you recommend in Cheshire?
Lymm is beautiful with a traditional village centre and loads of fab places to go out.
Hotdesks are available at altspace from £9 a day. Have a look at the website here or contact Steve @altspace.club.
